I am an architect. In 2010, I was honored as one of the 20 architects under the age of 45 projected to have a significant impact on the built environment in Singapore and the broader region.
Today, my role encompasses that of an educator and advocate. I am passionate about sharing how Architecture and Design contribute to the enhancement of Wellbeing and Happiness in society.
Throughout my professional journey, I have accumulated extensive experience in urban architecture and spatial design across diverse scales. With a comprehensive skill set and credentials, I am poised to address the topic of well-being with proficiency.
My expertise blends technical knowledge with insights gained from personal struggles with mental challenges. Now, my life's purpose is to synthesize these two fields of experience and create a platform that serves a greater cause: educating everyone on how spaces can profoundly impact and facilitate the attainment of well-being.
Following my personal struggle with depression, I made a resolute decision to harness the energy I had rebuilt and channel it towards spreading joy in various ways.

Following my personal struggle with depression, I made a resolute decision to harness the energy I had rebuilt and channel it towards spreading joy in various ways.
This marked the genesis of the WHAD (Well-being and Happiness through Architecture and Design) movement, my endeavor to raise awareness about the profound link between happiness and the built environment.
The twists and turns of my life journey prompted me to contemplate the notion that each of us is not merely meant to exist, but to serve and uplift every member of humanity.
Regardless of our roles or social statuses, I firmly believe we bear a profound responsibility to contribute to the betterment of others. We can serve as beacons of light that ignite the flames of others and radiate warmth throughout the room. However, many of us either overlook this potential or neglect self-care.
One of the crucial lessons I learned during my battles with depression is this: if I allow my own cup to empty, I'll have no love to offer my loved ones and no capacity to serve others. Nothing can be poured from an empty cup. Therefore, I resolved that it's equally, if not more, vital to prioritize filling my own cup.
This is a journey we all must undertake, so that we may pour forth from our cups abundantly.
In the WHAD movement, 'E' stands for Experiences, 'G' for Growth and Learning, and 'M' for Meaning and Purpose.
While happiness can be understood in various ways, I have synthesized teachings from contemporary experts and ancient texts alike.
I've discovered that this approach offers both accessibility and clarity, facilitating entry into the discourse and study of happiness.
I've come to the realization that confining my architectural expertise solely to the commissions I undertake would be overly restrictive, failing to align with my aspiration to make a meaningful impact on the world.

Thus, I believe it's imperative to disseminate my knowledge as extensively as possible. By unveiling the insights and strategies that have proven effective for me, I aim to empower others to achieve similar success.
